wise men
There have been fables and tales told then sang since the sun and moon were born
The wise men have warned us in ways they thought we would understand
about this thing called love
Its power is stronger then the gods, for even they fell into her trap
Sitting across the flame of a fire the warnings were sharp and the conscience's deep
The language was in gestures and in a tongue anyone could hear... the heart
If you looked into the eyes of the storyteller you could see his resolve to save you from this
and it wasn't until later you learned this man was not so wise after all but a scholar of his own pain
His knowledge and wisdom was from the scars on his own tale
He looks across the fading fire into the soul of everyone present to pass something through the smoke
A warning he knows no one will heed
for once we see into the spirit and soul of the one, he knows our own fate is sealed
for Love is meant to be not wise at all
the bottom line is ... in love there need not be one
