Walk don't Run
my tippy toes on the edge of the curb
my eyes on the blinking sign
my thoughts messy inside
my insides rumbling with a new kind hunger
my knees wanting to wobble from side to side
my nose twitchy before the big sigh
my ears filled with those poetic lines
my hair telling the story in black and white
my hand, my hand
my hand squeezed tight in yours
my tippy toes on the edge of the curb
my eyes on the blinking sign
my thoughts messy inside
my insides rumbling with a new kind hunger
my knees wanting to wobble from side to side
my nose twitchy before the big sigh
my ears filled with those poetic lines
my hair telling the story in black and white
my hand in yours, walking over the curb, toward the sign, no hunger, with no wobble, sighing, listening to poetry in story, with you to the other side
